A Conversation with Objects

With interaction designer Elizabeth Goodman, and interns Godiva Reischenbichler and Jade Milan

Supported by Art Center Media Design Practices’ Summer Research Residency, 2016

We are mapping the intractable world of the gun debate, interviewing public health workers, anti-gun war veterans, trauma surgeons, data driven policing companies, gun advocates, secret gun owners and stockpilers.  After each interview, we create an art object or intervention reflecting the social imaginary of each subject; we’ve made videos, metaphysical objects, policy fantasias, sculptures, lenticular prints, games, and more.

Over the course of this project, we will be returning the objects to their subject, and exchanging objects between the Gunworlds.
