Community-Based and Educational Projects

Community-based art and social practice has been an integral part of my work since 2001.  I have been always been concerned with the question of how to make an art relevant–to non-traditional audiences, to the moment in which we live, and to local communities.  I have created community-based art pieces with diverse populations and organizations, and in diverse locations–from downtown New York to rural Mississippi, from suburban San Diego to urban Oakland.  I’ve facilitated projects for the San Diego Rep, USF’s Performing Arts and Social Justice program, the ARC of San Francisco and Planned Parenthood, among others.
